Warm Weather

I want to apologize for not posting lately.
I have been spending time outdoors working in my flower beds getting them weeded and ready for some new plantings.
I hope to post this week, we are expecting more stormy weather this week so I might not be able to get out and will spend more time in the scrapbook room.

My husband worked yesterday in the scrapbook room doing some honey do jobs and I need to get down there to do some cleaning up, and re-organizing again.

I just wanted to post this picture for now to let us all realize here in OH we will
soon have warmer weather.
This photo was taken with my cell phone so it isn't very good...
I was also very disappointed that this tree and another one died this winter, they were pretty while they lasted.......  :(

Bridal Shower Greeting

Good Morning Friends,

I am so excited today, we are expected to have temps in the middle 80's today here in Southern Ohio.  All kinds of things we want to do today, not sure we can get it all in.

Today's card was a card that I made yesterday morning, it took around an hour to finally get it together, and I gave it away knowing it needed some adjustments but there is just a time when you have to stop working and just let it go, and it didn't help that it was time for the Bridal Shower too.

The idea for this card was not my creation.  I cased this card with my version added.  The lady who created the idea has a wonderful website, it will take you hours to see it all and when you see the creations she does you will want to be her. You can check out her idea for the card Here. I also have a link on my sidebar for her website too. I can't say enough about her work.

Here is my card:
I am sorry it is in the envelope, but I was headed out the door with it and then thought I would probably kick myself if I didn't take a picture of this card.  So it was already to go when I snapped the pic.

This card is a 5x7

Card Recipe:
 Paper: Base/Brown/Gina K
DSP: K & Company
I used a embossing folder on the dress and cut it out with a spellbinders die
Pearls: Stampin Up
Punch border: Martha Stewart
Stamps: Stampin Up
Oval: Stampin Up and tag/Stampin Up
Leaves: Bird Punch
the little flowers on the dress is a negative flower from a border punch
The rose is Prima

Things I will change when I do this again:
Move the heart shape down a little more.  I would use a thicker white paper for the dress in order to get a deeper emboss, add a darker ribbon around the waist.
And take a picture of the inside...ugh..

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I will be back soon with another card.  I really wanted to make cards all day yesterday but had committments that took me away.  But I will get back to crafting soon....I however will be out enjoying the nice weather today with my family.

Have a Great Day!!!

Plain Jane/Best Wishes

Good Evening,
Well,  here is a card I am calling "Plain Jane" and if you know my cardmaking skills or habits, I am not a plain jane cardmaker.  I love embellishments and I love making my cards busy, more to look at.

My real reason for making this card was to see if the flower would turn out.   I am using the "Day of Graditude" stamp set for the flower stamp, then cut it out and made it into a flower.

I like it and I don't like it.  I think with some playing time I might make it look a little better, but for tonight, here is my "plain jane" card.  Let me know what you think of the flower.

Well, time for bed.  I am hoping to post again tomorrow, but if the weather is as nice as it was today, I might be outside most of the day.....who could blame me.......:)

Night all!

Bridal Thank You Notes

Good Evening,
I wanted to post this card earlier, but between internet issues yesterday and camera issues this evening I have had a tuff time getting things posted on here.

I have been invited to several Bridal Showers/Weddings lately for the coming summer and I thought that I would make a few little card set Thank You notes for them.  I will give them another gift too, but I think sometimes it is nice to have some different "thank yous" to send to special friends and relatives.

I thought instead of using the same color ribbon I would use different colors.  Now I wished I had used just one, my next card set will be just one color.  We learn from our mistakes.

The Card Recipe

I cut the cardstock for these 3 1/2 x 5
I used a variety of ribbons and ink colors to match
I used the Perfect Punches stamp set from Stampin Up
I used a embossing folder from Stampin Up

The Bag Recipe

I used the pattern from Angie Kennedy's webstie which I have a link to on my sidebar of the blog under Chic n Scratch You will find the instructions there for the 12x12 Card box.  She also has a ton of other video tutorials there for you to see and use too, she does great work.

I used Martha Stewart Punches for all the decorative borders on the card box.
The leaves are from a sizzix die and the fern leaves are also a punch along with the flower punches I used for the flowers, the brads are antique brads from Stampin Up, I added white ribbon at the bottom and top of the box along the borders. I did emboss the top border.

Thanks for dropping by
See You later

Happy Mothers Day/love

  Good Evening,
I had wanted to get this card posted this morning but we have had thunderstorms in our area and our internet
went out.  So now it is back up and running and I am here to post my card.
I again used the Mojo Monday sketch 185 for my card.  I like using those sketches, it sorta teaches you how to make something different then what you are normally use to doing.
You should try your hand a working with a few of the sketches.
I have an icon on the side bar of my blog that will take you right to their website.

The inside of this card, I just took paper and ripped the edges and added a few brads.. I thought it turned out pretty good.

The Card Recipe
Started with the sketch from Mojo Monday
Paper: Stampin Up/Base, DSP/DCWV Citus Stack
Flower is made with Gina K/Sweet Corn
Stamps for Flower were: Gold Sunflowers from Heartfelt Creations
cut with spellbinders Blossoms Two, I embossed the flower with a Stampin Up
embossing folder.
Ribbon: Stampin Up
Brads:  I am sure where I bought those but any will work.
Punches: for sentiment/Stampin Up
I sprayed the card with Smooch Spray/ Stampin Up

I hope you enjoyed todays card

Thanks on the Dark Side

Good Morning,

Another cold night here in Ohio and expecting snow today or tomorrow.  It is kinda aggravating when you see all the plants trying to come up and enjoy some nice weather and show off what they have to offer.

Speaking of offer, I am going to be giving some Blog Candy away.  I will be telling you more about in on Friday.  I have several things that I no longer wish to keep around or have never used and find it is time to let it go.  So make sure on Friday (sometime) that you stop by my blog to see how you can win the blog candy, and what I have to give away.  That is Friday April 1, and no this isn't an April Fools joke.....:)

Todays card is another card I made with dark paper.  Like I said yesterday and before that, I let the paper inspire me, so I guess I was feeling a little dark when I made this card.  I used an old Mojo Monday sketch to make this card, so it wasn't all my doing.  But I did like it.  The colors of the paper are nice together.
I love making the vintage looking cards, they have a great feel, but sometimes it is nice to get away from that and make something with a different feel.

Bliss on the Dark Side

Good Afternoon to my crafting friends,

I have been busy this morning getting things back in order after a week of "Spring Break".  My girls are back to school and today is the first day of classes for the spring quarter.  It is really amazing how fast this time goes.  Seems like just yesterday we were planning high school graduation and now they are moving along in college, and all the time I am getting older too, and find it harder to accomplish all I want to in a day, but we keep going and doing what we have to.  Piles of laundry will get done today and housework that I put off so we could enjoy time.

My older daughter loves to work with our cows and was home to bottle feed a calf we have.  He wasn't doing so well after he was born, not eating and not getting around very well and then we noticed that he was blind.  So now we have this poor little thing walking in circles always looking for his mommy, but he is doing well now, he seems to be able to keep up with his mommy when they are in the pasture by themselves.  So for now until he is weaned we will have to keep checking and making sure he is able to find his mommy to eat.  PIC Below:

This is when we brought him in to give him a bottle in case he hadn't ate.  He loved the bottle so we assume he hadn't ate from his mommy.  He is such a cutie.  We have several people who think it is terrible we bring the calves in the house, but they only come as far as the mudroom.  We have had several that we have helped in the mudroom.  Usually winter is a terrible time for calves, with snow and ice, sometimes they freeze out there, and sometimes they do very well.  We have it now that they all come in the spring, so much better.  It is hard to warm up a calf but we have had to do it and no place like in the house.  But we have a heated barn now and we can take them there now when its cold and they are sick.
On to my card:
Todays card I made on Friday.  I must have had a moment and was thinking on the dark side.  The next two cards I have made for the blog are on the dark side, meaning they are dark colored paper.  I have said before that most of the time I am inspired by paper and I was with these cards too.

Todays card is "Bliss"  There is a lot of times you just want a card to say "hey".  So I thought this card was good for that.  You will see I have added some new techniques to my cards the last few times....trying to get away from the things I love to put on cards.........now found something new.......which means more time or a card.....
                            Outside:
                            Inside:

I am not sure that is necessary for me to keep adding the card recipe for my cards so I might just not do this anymore.  But I will today.
Card Recipe:
Paper: Cardstock/Stampin Up
DSP: Basic Gray
Flower: Heartfelt Creations/Flora Grande 2
Flower cutout: Blossoms Nestibilites
Butterflys: Martha Stewart
Pearls and Stamp: Stampin Up
Oval Scallops: Nestibilites
This cut was cut by using an 8 1/2 x 11 at 4 1/4 long ways, it made a flip up card, vertical
