Birthday Card Repeat

HI there,

Back again with yet another Birthday card.  My oldest daughter Lyndsey will be 24 February 20th. I decided to go ahead and post this here as she never sees the blog.  I am very proud of her, she graduated from college last June and is now a Social Worker and has a good job.  She seems to like her job so that is always pleasing to know.

This is Lyndsey I am sure she would be unhappy that I posted this picture but I figure she won't see this so it won't harm anything.
This card was made so that she could keep it on her desk at work.  She likes little crafty things so this might look cute.  Her birthday is so early in the year that this little calendar can still be used for the rest of the year.

I should have edited this photo and made it a little brighter....but the flower is a navy blue and looks so much better in person.
Here is the calendar part of the card.

I highlighed the 20 on the calendar because that is her birthday date.   The little flower
is blue also.  I will make sure the next photos I do look better then this.

Well, hope you all like the card I posted.

Thanks for visiting my blog!

Birthday Card

post signature

Hello,

A few weeks ago my kids celebrated their 22nd birthday.  I will have to say that it is so upsetting and at the same time thrilling to see my youngest turn 22.  I don't want to brag but I think they are pretty good kids.  My son who was born first, by 2 minutes, has decided that he would like to go into business with his dad and help with the farming.  So he has received his CDL license and is driving a truck hauling grain, gravel and equipment when needed.  He has his own lawn care business and does well with it.  He
also plows and salts parking lots in the small town we live in.  Recently he went
and bought a Floater so that this spring he can spread lime for area farmers.  I think
he has enough to keep him busy.
Our daughter who was born last by 2 minutes....the same two minutes is a senior
in college studing physical rehabilitation and is enjoying that.  She will graduate next year.
If you hadn't figured it out by now they are twins.  Their birthday was January 20th.

We don't buy birthday presents but give the kids money, after all that is what they want anyway.
I made them birthday cards, but after the money is gone from them you find them laying around so
I pick them up and save them, I know they could care less about them, but I still like to make
them cards.

Here is the card I made Lesley, her favorite colors are orange/blue.

This is the card I made Landry, I will have to admit, I didn't really go to far with this card,
but I did want it to be some what nice.

Well, I will be back again with yet another Birthday Card for my older Daughter Lyndsey.  I have already made it so I will post it tomorrow.  Her birthday is February 20th, but she won't see the blog so she will still be surprised.

Thanks for visiting my blog.

Birthday Wishes/Metal Flower

Good Sunday Morning to you all!

I was blog hopping the other day and came upon someone using metal to embellish a
bottle and they sold the metal as well, so I decided I would look to see how much the metal was and to my surprise it was cheap, but I realized I wanted it now....I am a bit impatient...and I thought I should try using a pop can.  I made my way to my husbands shop, only because I knew there was a ton of pop cans in there, ( just a trash can full).  I also new that I would find tin snips up there too.  I cut a can and took it back to my craftroom and first I colored it with Stazon ink, took the heat gun and dried it (I think that is necessary) and then cut the flowers out with the sizzix.  I embossed the flowers after cutting so there wasn't so much metal to emboss.  It worked and I was tickled.

The first picture is of the can after I cut it with tin snips.  It cuts really well with sharp scissors as well.  I did us scissors to trim it after I got the top and bottom cut off.  To put it in the sizzix machine I did take the metal and straigten it out, as you see here it does roll up.

This is the back side of the flower  I made.  Just to show you it really was the pop can.  It cuts very easy in the sizzix, but don't try your punches.  I did and locked them up, it wasn't easy to get them from being stuck.
The embossing is much better if you emboss after you cut the flower out.  I think it does better when you don't have a whole piece to emboss.

This is the flower.  I used a antique brad from Stamp Up for the center.  Also the center piece from the Fun Flowers Die I did put in the center before the brad.
This is the card I made using the flower for embellishment.    Outside

This is the Inside of my card.
The Card Recipe Is:

Sentiment Stamp: Stampin UP

Birthday Card with a double inside greeting

Good Sunday Morning,

The weather yesterday here in Ohio was very nice, windy, but nice.  I did find time to do a little something in the scrapbook room, but found that I spent the day outside more then I thought I would.
I made this card a few days ago, part of the stash I have set aside for blogging.  I really like this card and I think the reason is, because it has to inside greetings.  As you know I enjoy embellishing the inside of my cards as well as the out, I think it is a great treat for the receiver to open up a card that has a great inside greeting.

Since this morning I am in need of more time...and no not because we lost an hour...LOL  But because my husband has told me he will do a few honey do jobs and I need to be able to give him my attention and help.  I will be back with the recipe for this card later on this afternoon.

So thanks for stopping by.

Here is today's card:

Birthday Wishes

Good Afternoon!

Today has not been a good day for me, sorta on the BLAH side today.  Not sure if I am coming down with something or that I am just a dizzy person...but I am hoping to get back to myself tomorrow or sooner....

I made this card a while back for a friend of mine who likes purple.  I sent it to her but it came back, because of a new address, but I don't know it either.  So when I do get it I will send it ASAP.

I made this card from a sketch challenge that someone was doing, so I thought I would try it myself, I never sent it in, but wanted to try my hand at it.  This card is really very simple compared to what I like to do.  I finished the inside with a personal greeting that I hand wrote myself.

Sorry to not have anymore to offer, I will go back and lay down now!
Have a great day

Happy Birthday Wishes

Good Afternoon!!  I am a little late posting today, but never the less, I have a card to post.
For some time now I have been wanting to try some coloring on the stamps I have, but I really am not good at it.  I have been playing around with some images and trying to develop a technique, but as you can see here I haven't found it yet. :)  But I will keep trying.

Todays card was hard for me, I don't think I have an ounce of creativitiy today, it has left me for the day, but hoping it will come back soon.  I did waddle my way through this one.

I used Pink Cardstock from SU for the base, I also used some DP from one of my little 6x6 pads I have laying around, not sure of the name because the front cover is missing.  I used the this stamp from SU for the greetings.  I did use SU watercolor markers for the coloring. The pink ribbon is from Walmart.  The pearls are also SU.  All the scalloped circles inside and out are a made with a Marvey Punch.  The sentiment on the inside is also SU.

Thanks  for visiting  Have a nice Thursday!

Happy Birthday Landry and Lesley

My babies are no longer babies, or teenagers for that matter.  :(   But they will always be my babies. :)  On January 27th 1991 on Superbowl Sunday Landry Michael was born at 11:59 am and weighed in at 6 lbs. 6 oz.  At 12:01 pm Lesley Anne was born weighing in at 6 lbs. 9 oz.  they both were 19 inches.  Landry now is 6'3" and Lesley is 5'9".  And I won't say how much the weigh now.

Here is a photo of when they were smaller:
When they were born they really did look a like, but when they started getting older they turned to their own individual looks.  Landry has straight hair and Lesley has curly hair, which she hates.  They now have the same hair color, Landry for a long time, when he was little had blonde hair, but now it is pretty dark.  Lesley's had a red cast but she is dark now too.

Here is a photo of the both of them at their High School Prom they both were made homecoming King and Queen.  It was a really nice time for them both.  Glad they have these kind of memories.

So what you probably came to see was the cards since that is what my blog is about.  But later on, here on the blog I want to start posting some of my photos I have taken.  Photography is a big part of what I like to do also.

Landry's Card:

I made this card this morning.  I knew what I wanted to do I had most of it cut out yesterday and then put it together this morning.  I think it works for a masucline card.  Which we all know is hard to make.  We all want to add ribbon, pearls and flowers to cards but I added a button and twine to this one.  The brads are actually stick ons and I have no idea where I picked them up at.  The paper is a small 4x6 pad I bought at Hobby Lobby.  The button is from SU along with the sentiment.  The oval scallops are punches I have from Marvey.  I love these punches .  They are well worth the investment.

This is Lesley's Card.  I used another pack of 4x6 paper pad for the paper here.  The base is brown which I also used on Landry's card.  I thought since I already had the piece cut it would be ok to use for both cards. I used SU cup cake punch to cut out the cupcakes and I used the scalloped punch from SU to attach them to, the ribbons are from Walmart and the tag with the sentiment is from spellbinders and the oval is from SU.  I added pearls to the cupcakes, and used orange ink for the sentiment.

I want to apologize to all of you have subcribed to the blog and have been getting several emails on this post, but I was having trouble getting the photos on the blog and they only way to get them on was to post and then go back an edit the post.  Sorry for all the interruptions.

Well hope you enjoyed todays post!    Happy Birthday Guys  We love you both.........! Enjoy a great day....

Happy Birthday Honey!!!

Today is my husbands birthday.  So of course that means I needed to go to the craft room and come up with a masculine card.  They are the most difficult cards to make.  I guess it is easy to use pretties on a card when you are a lady, but it is harder to come up with a card for a man.  Anyway, not sure it is something I like but I did it anyway.  The inside is kinda personal so I won't be showing that today.  Thanks for looking!!

Birthday Envelope Card

Good Afternoon all or whoever sees this :)  I seem to have so much to do and nothing to do all the time, but can't seem to find my way to the craft room to make cards.  But I  made it here today,  I thought I would make an envelope card, or that is what I will call it.
I just love K & Company paper, it is always so nice and matches most paper.  If you haven't noticed I really like making the scalloped circle flowers, so easy and the make such a great embellishment for a card.  I still love adding pearls and notice there is no ribbon on this card, another one of my favorites on a card.....The Greetings is from Stampin Up.  I used Stampin Up punches to add the greetings too, and the inside I used Nestibilities dies I think it is Labels 6.  The button in the large flower is in the new Mini Occasions Catalog.

Happy Birthday Mother-in-law

My mother-in-law will be celebrating her birthday on Thursday so I thought I would make her a card. I finally after several hours   found the motivation to come up with something I think is presentable.
Pam (my cousin) and I always make cards on Wednesday, so today we made cards but we found we both were lacking in the creative juice it takes to make something we think we want to keep.  I had several from time to time that hits the trash can and then I start over.....today was one of those days.

I hope my mother-in-law likes this card, if she only knew how hard it was to come up with.....

Front of card:
 Inside of Card:

I used spellbinders dies for the pretty scalloped oval on the front and I used Marvy punch ovals for the other two that were layered.  I used both scalloped punches from Stampin Up for the large flower in the front and the brad is the antique brads from Stampin Up.  The paper is K & Co. and I used Martha Stewart punches for the cut out borders on the bottom.  The inside scallop was also spellbinders and marvy punches just like the front, the small flower is cut from the spellbinders circle scalloped dies...small one...I always pierced around the scallopes on the ovals and circles to add some decoration.  The sentiments on the front and inside are both from Stampin Up.

Happy Birthday

Stampin Up stamps, cardstock and punches seems to pull this card together.  The inside was a label die from Spellbinders. Add a little ribbon and you have a "Happy Birthday" card.

Best Wishes

Moving on from Christmas to all occasions is something I think I will enjoy.  I love Christmas but I am ready to move on.
Here I have made a Birthday Card.  I received some new punches for Christmas and really wanted to try them out.  This card is something that just came to me as I was putting it together.
The first photo is of the outside
The second photo is of the inside.

Big Blossom Birthday

I am sure you are thinking I am nuts to make a "black flower"  but I wanted to try and see what this would look like in black.  I like this stamp set from Stampin Ups New Occasions Mini that will be available Jan 4.  The stamp set is called "Build a blossom" and it has a punch that goes along with it so you can cut out the images, it is called the Blossom Petals Punch.  I think this will probably be a great seller in January.
The inside of the card I used my rectangled punches and Martha Stewart punch the double loop for the corners.......The flowers I had laying around and thought they would go well with this card.  Not sure where they are from, but I have had them for a while. The bling is from Stampin Up.

Happy Birthday/masculine card

Happy day before the day before Christmas Eve.  I was up early this morning, which seems to be a theme for me lately.  I think the reason that I find myself more motivated to make cards early in the morning it is a quite time for me, like my time to get myself going for the day.
Here in Ohio we are expecting some snow for the Christmas Eve and for Christmas Day, so that is pretty exciting, I think having snow on Christmas is a wonderful thing, even though it can be messy, and hard for others to travel, so everyone be careful and just try to enjoy the weather.
My husbands cousin is celebrating his 50th Birthday on the 26th,  He doesn't know they are having a surprise party for him, so I thought I would make him a card.  As most of you cardmakers know, making masculine cards can be quite a challenge.  We like to embellish our cards with flowers, ribbon, pearls and all things girly, but for men that is a different story.  I tried here to make it as masculine as possible but make it so I like it....:)  This stamp set is a new one which will be on sale in January in Stampin Ups Occasions Mini.  This one is called "Bring on the Cake" it has a lot of cute things in it, almost a must have for Cardmakers.
I used some Wide Brown Ribbon that has a lot of texture, along with a piece of red to make the card pop some.  I used punches for the sentiment layers.  On the inside it was just a bunch of punches making the look it has.

Masculine Birthday Card

This card I made yesterday for my daughter to give to her boyfriend for his birthday.  It is all Stampin Up stamps and the paper is in a pad that I found.  Masculine cards are so hard to make but I was hoping this one would work well, he likes hunting so I thought this was good.
This is the inside of the card.  The stamp I used here was from Gina K.  I always add a tag for the person who is giving the card to sign it.  That way the card will stay nice.  And it always gives the person receiving it a chance to recylce it and give it to someone they want a card for......

Pink Birthday Card

Well, I did make it back to the blog to post a few cards.  I have days where I am so busy it is hard to make a card, but yesterday I had a few minutes to make a couple.  This card started out as a Christmas Card and ended up being a birthday card.  I was putting this together when my daughter came in and asked for a Birthday card, I was using Christmas Paper but it wasn't really the traditional colors, I was using K &Company Christmas paper and realized that it would work for a Birthday Card, so I had to change gears and get in birthday mode.  I think it turned out nice.  I love to make the easel cards for christmas, so that it is easier for those who receive them to display them. I really think this card turned out better as a Birthday Card, I think this might be my favorite one.

Happy Birthday

Embossing,  Ink, Rich Razzleberry Paper, Ribbon, Stamps and inside is all Stampin UP.
I made this card a while back and wanted to share it here, Yes, it will probably take a box to ship it
because of the flower, but still a nice card.

This is the inside of the card. The stamp is Stampin Up which I added pearls.

Birthday Card

I actually made this card for a friend and I always take photos of all the cards I make, but she didn't pick this card (I let her pick the one she wanted) so I am posting this today.  It was actually made from a sketch I seen on the internet and thought I would try my hand at my touch on this.
