Good Morning~
I am here with another card, boy I am on a roll.  I would love to set here today and make more but I have laundry calling my name and a clean up from the weekend, with everyone being home, it can get a little out of hand.  So I am doomed to be cleaning today!  But tomorrow will be a better day for cardmaking, I hope unless we get the ice storm and lose electric, and then I will still be here but in the dark.  :)

Today's card is a "Thanks" card.  I had this come to me this morning as I was waking up.  You all probably think I don't have anything to think about but cards...well...I do have stresses and I think I avoid them by thinking of things that make me happy.  I also thought of two others but now they are gone.......ugh :)

OK, the card.  Rich Razzleberry from SU is the base of this card along with the DP, it was not what I seen this morning when I thought it up, but I started out with what I thought I wanted then realized this paper was better...that happens to cardmakers from time to time......more often then not for me.  I used the 5 flower punch from SU for the front flowers and the buttons are also SU the green flowers behind them are from the backside of the doublesided paper so I thought I would use it.  The lattice behind the flowers is sizzix die also from SU the stamp sentiment is from SU along with the punches I used to mount it on.  Ribbon and pearls are also SU, the butterfly is the punch from Martha Stewart.  Inside I used nestibilities die for the DP oval and the off white oval is a Marvy punch.  All the green leaves are the little leaves die from SU.   I hope you understood all this.  I will be back tomorrow with a new card, I already had a thought and I have wrote it down...

 I left the inside blank so that a more personal sentiment can be added.  Sometimes you send Thank You cards and would love to let them know your personal feelings instead of a verse already added to a card.

Sympathy Card

Good Sunday Morning!  Looks like Ohio weather keeps progressing along, today we are forecast with freezing rain so I guess the saying about Ohio weather "wait a minute and it will change" holds true.

 If you have been following my blog you know that I am working on some cards for orders I have taken.  I guess it is hard to make all-occasion cards when you really don't know what occasion most people send cards for.  So I am making a little of this and that.  That is the reason for todays sympathy card.

I used SU cardstock for the base, and used K & Company for the DP paper.  The stamp set I used here     for the sentiment is "Thanks for Caring" and for the blossom I used "Build a Blossom" and the punch that goes with that set.  To cut out the sentiment I used Nestibilities Die "Labels 6".  It worked well with this sentiment, almost like it was made for it.
The butterfly is the small one from Martha Stewart.  I want to get the large one but it is hard to find.  I will keep looking. I added pearls to it that are SU.  I did cut the border behind the flower with Martha Stewart punch also.  The inside I used the same Labels 6 die for the sentiment.  I wanted to add that I used Sage Shadow SU ink for the flower, and Blushing Bride for the sentiments.

A "Get Well" today

Good Morning,,,,the sun is shining at my house today.  Now I can see all the dust that I have been missing when I clean.....:(  But I welcome the sun and the dust....as long as it isn't snowing.  But we are expecting more the middle of the week.  So I guess winter is still in progress here in Ohio.

Todays card is made using SU very vanilla cardstock for the base.  I used K & Company DP, as most of you know, if you have been following me, I love K & Company paper especially the vintage looking paper.
I used a stamp set from SU for the sentiment on the outside and I didn't add one for the inside I need to go through my stamps and see what I have to put on the inside of this card.
The ribbon is from Walmart, the flower was made by using several different flower punches.  I also find I can't make a card without flowers, pearls or ribbon.......just my hang up I guess....  The inside brads I made with the paper from the flowers with my I-top, they are extremely easy to make. I used Martha Stewart punch for the border on the outside. The inside is a topnote, and I made the ovals with my Marvy punches.  I did ink all around the edges with Crumb Cake ink from SU.

Good Morning all!  Well, it happened again,  we received more snow this morning.  It was just about a 1/2 inch but at this point it is too much.  We have had snow since early December and it doesn't look like it is going to stop anytime soon.  Some weather predictors are saying we will have this system hanging around us maybe into early March......ugh  But we can be thankful that we are no longer in a drought.  Our summer here was pretty dry and dangerous.  So we should be good on that now.  I know the moisture should please the farmers, I know on who is pretty tickled. :)

I have a card this morning to post.  It is a Thank You card.  I am going to try and work on the Card Sets I haver orders for this weekend.  I need to get those finished.  When I do I will share them with you.

 ON this card: I used Gina K pure luxury cardstock for the base of this card which I embossed with a SU embossing folder called Elegant Bouquet. The DP is from a 6x6 pad from Basic Gray called Cappella, it has some really luxury looking paper in it.  I love using these paper pads for DP.  They are just the right amount and hardly any leftovers.  The loopy border is from Martha Stewart double loop punch and I used the corner punch for the bottom corners of this card.  The flowers are from my flower punches from EK success and Marvy.  The fern like leaf is a punch from Punch Bunch punches, I really like this punch.  The antique brads are from SU along with the pearls.  The inside I used the embossing folder I used for the top outside of the card to dress up the topnote for sentiments.  I didn't add sentiments only because I think in Thank  You cards you want to express you own sentiment for that.    I added small pearls to the inside also. I didn't ink the edges of this card, I am trying not to do that, but I hate to say, I miss it and I think I will just keep doing it.  Also I know I put flowers on everything, but I just love making flowers for my cards.  I did order some flowers so I am hoping to use them soon.

Happy Birthday Landry and Lesley

My babies are no longer babies, or teenagers for that matter.  :(   But they will always be my babies. :)  On January 27th 1991 on Superbowl Sunday Landry Michael was born at 11:59 am and weighed in at 6 lbs. 6 oz.  At 12:01 pm Lesley Anne was born weighing in at 6 lbs. 9 oz.  they both were 19 inches.  Landry now is 6'3" and Lesley is 5'9".  And I won't say how much the weigh now.

When they were born they really did look a like, but when they started getting older they turned to their own individual looks.  Landry has straight hair and Lesley has curly hair, which she hates.  They now have the same hair color, Landry for a long time, when he was little had blonde hair, but now it is pretty dark.  Lesley's had a red cast but she is dark now too.

Here is a photo of the both of them at their High School Prom they both were made homecoming King and Queen.  It was a really nice time for them both.  Glad they have these kind of memories.

So what you probably came to see was the cards since that is what my blog is about.  But later on, here on the blog I want to start posting some of my photos I have taken.  Photography is a big part of what I like to do also.

Landry's Card:

I made this card this morning.  I knew what I wanted to do I had most of it cut out yesterday and then put it together this morning.  I think it works for a masucline card.  Which we all know is hard to make.  We all want to add ribbon, pearls and flowers to cards but I added a button and twine to this one.  The brads are actually stick ons and I have no idea where I picked them up at.  The paper is a small 4x6 pad I bought at Hobby Lobby.  The button is from SU along with the sentiment.  The oval scallops are punches I have from Marvey.  I love these punches .  They are well worth the investment.

This is Lesley's Card.  I used another pack of 4x6 paper pad for the paper here.  The base is brown which I also used on Landry's card.  I thought since I already had the piece cut it would be ok to use for both cards. I used SU cup cake punch to cut out the cupcakes and I used the scalloped punch from SU to attach them to, the ribbons are from Walmart and the tag with the sentiment is from spellbinders and the oval is from SU.  I added pearls to the cupcakes, and used orange ink for the sentiment.

I want to apologize to all of you have subcribed to the blog and have been getting several emails on this post, but I was having trouble getting the photos on the blog and they only way to get them on was to post and then go back an edit the post.  Sorry for all the interruptions.

Rosey Valentine Card

WHEEEEE!!!  I have another card today........this promise I made to myself to post a card everyday keeps me on my toes, but boy is it fun.

Tomorrow I will be posting two cards because my two youngest will be celebrating their 20th birthdays!!!  My babies are all grown up.  I have my daughers card finished and I will be working on my sons card after lunch so I will post those tomorrow for their birthdays.  busy busy

Well, Pam (my cousin) and I usually make cards on Wednesday but she had a little accident and won't be here today, so I am home alone with no one to talk to today, but I am hoping she will be better by next Wednesday and we can get back on track with our cards.

The Card:

Today's card is another Valentine Card.  I suspect this is the last valentine I will be doing.  I really don't need that many for myself so I will be moving on to another occasion for cardmaking.  I do have a couple orders for all occasion cards so I should be working on those.

Todays card is made with K & Company paper, the roses are from Walmart and Stampin Up, Ribbon and Pearls is also Stampin Up along with the stamped sentiments....I used the pink doilie in the center it is from Walmart.  I inked the edges with Crumb Cake Ink from SU.

Thinking of You (Recovery)

Good Morning!  Well, I did it again..I have made a card this morning and it's ready to be posted here, so I am on a run, not really...I am always good at these promises I set for my self, but only for the first week.

Today's card is a "Thinking of You"
Seems from time to time we need these for special times when friends we know aren't feeling well or have had accidents and need some cheering up.

This card was very easy to make.  I used Gina K base paper in leather, I used K & Company for the DP and then I used a Martha Stewart punch to make the element at the top stand out a little.  I had cream colored lace ribbon on this and traded it for the pink, which made it pop, so glad I changed that.  The flower is cut from a new sizzix die from the Stampin Up mini Catalog, I cut 2 leaves with the new punch also in that catalog, great punch even if you don't buy the stamp set that goes along with it.  I always ink all the edges of my cards most of the time it is the Crumb Cake ink from Stampin Up, because it makes things look old.

The inside is a label die set from spellbinders and I added a sentiment from Stampin Up.  The flower is just leftovers from the flower I put on the front.  Very simple card.

Top Note Heart shaped Treat Boxes

I mentioned in an earlier post that my cousin Pam and I are having a card party, well we always give our guest a treat of some sort and I decided to make up these little boxes for them, using a Valentines Day theme.

I used the top note for the box front and bottom, then cut from a labels die for the front, then added the heart shaped treat and the other goodies.  They are time consuming but so much fun.  If anyone would like the directions just google "Top Note Boxes"...and you will find several....

"Old" Valentine

Good Morning!
Well in my promise to myself that I would post a new card everyday here is today's card!!!  YEAH!!
As I said this is somewhat of a resoultion, and I have never kept any that I have ever made, so we will take this one day at a time.  My only problem is I also have a promise to myself to make sure my housework gets done before anything else, so I am slacking on that this morning but I hope to get it all caught up here before lunch..it is 10am right now.......wish me luck.

This card was brought to me by the paper I found.  I saw the paper that looked like a letter had been written on it, and thought I needed to add it to a card.  This is not the traditional 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 this is a 5x7 card.  It had to be this size for the inside that I added to it, and I will talk about it later on.  Here is the front of the card:

The front of the card I just kept finding things to layer on it, and I loved doing that, I used doilies that I found at Walmart, I used a white one and took Crumb Cake ink to make it look old, the red one I did the same thing.  The paper that looks like a letter, is from K&Company I just love it, I took and tore the paper around the edges and then inked them with Crumb Cake ink, I think that this Crumb Cake ink is probably my most used ink from Stampin Up. The Off White piece I embossed with the dot embossing folder for a larger card, and then inked it with crumb cake. The "Stamp" image is from cuttlebug, I believe it is a set that came with my cuttlebug when I bought it, I found it while cleaning my scrapbook room, along with a lot of other things...  :)

I used "Be My Valentine" stamp from the new Occasions mini, I inked it in Crumb Cake and then cut out another banner in red, I used a Stampin Up Marker to color it.  I love this stamp.  The flowers are from the small scalloped circle and the 3 flower punch, I used Antique Brads from Stampin Up for the centers. The leaves are some that I found in my stash and I have no idea where I bought them....I also included some red ribbon that I colored a little with Crumb Cake.

The next photo is the inside of the card.

I used a sizzix die to cut out the hearts and the pop up.  I haven't yet added a sentiment as I have ordered one that I think will look great with it and it hasn't arrived yet.  I also used a white heart like those in the front which I inked in Crumb Cake again.  The hearts are cut from crumb cake paper except for the one in the center, and I ran out of crumb cake ....

"B" my valentine

It has been a few days since I posted.  I really don't like waiting that long to post a card, I am going to try to work on that and post a card everyday, now I am not good at resoultions so this is something like that....:)
Today's card is another Valentine, I believe I like making these kinds of cards, especially with the great colors you can use.  This one is something I thought up in my sleep, really it woke me up, but for some reason it looked better in my mind.

To start off with, I used cream cardstock, I used Gina K on this card. The red is also Gina K.  I cut the "B" out with the cricut and put a black shadow around it which I think set it off pretty nicely.  I used Martha Stewart heart border punch for the side element and added a piece of b/w dot ribbon for the center, and then added a bow from the same ribbon.  I used the "be my valentine" from the new from Stampin Up for the banner that goes across the "B"..I cut off the "be" and just made it say MY valentine.  The other small hearts are from Stampin Up they are rub ons.  The heart and the pin w/ pearls is from Michaels and Joanns.

The inside of this card I used the nestibilites die for the scalloped hearts.

The sentiment is from Stampin UP, I put the dots on the black heart with a while gel

pen, the small hearts are from the Martha Stewart punch that I used for the element on the front of the card.

Happy Birthday Honey!!!

Today is my husbands birthday.  So of course that means I needed to go to the craft room and come up with a masculine card.  They are the most difficult cards to make.  I guess it is easy to use pretties on a card when you are a lady, but it is harder to come up with a card for a man.  Anyway, not sure it is something I like but I did it anyway.  The inside is kinda personal so I won't be showing that today.  Thanks for looking!!

Pam's card for the party

This is the card my cousin "Pam" made for the card party.  They will enjoy this one.  The flower on this card is so much fun to make.  It is made with Stampin Ups Extra Large Scalloped Punch (I don't believe this punch is available right now unless Stampin UP has received a shipment lately) and it is also done with the Scalloped Cirlce Punch 1 3/4.  She also used the large flower from the Boho Blossoms punch for the center.
Tags and senitments are also from Stampin Up.  & K & Company DSP.

Valentines Day Card

Since Valentine's Day is coming up, we thought a card for that occasion would be ideal for the card party. Since the party is in the early part of February the guests will still have time to make a great card for their special person.

This is the front of the card.  We used Gina K. Red Paper for the base of this card.  It is a great paper for cards, very strong.  I used the stamp "En Francais" for the background stamp, it is from Stampin Up, the red ribbon is from Wal-mart, the flower is made from the punches"5-petal flower punch" and the large flower from the " Boho Blossoms punch" also from Stampin Up.  The large heart in the center is from Stampin Up and is "Be My Valentine" sold in the new Mini calalog.  I used the red glitter brad that is in the Mini Catalog.   The "love" label in the flower was a stamp from Stampin Up called "Tiny Tags" and was punch out with the punch "Jewerly Tag".

I used the heart scalloped die from Spellbinders and a heart punch from Marvy for the sentiment which was

from Stampin Up called "Valentine Defined" in the new mini catalog.

Spring Card

Today my cousin "Pam" and I made some cards in the craftroom today.  We are having a card party in February and we thought we had better come up with some cards to make at the party.  We made 3 cards today for our guests to make.  They will make two cards then they can purchase a card already to be assembled before they leave.  We had a good time today, and was very productive at the same time.

The first card here is the one they can buy at that party to take home and assemble. This is the front of the card.  I used the new stamp set from Stampin Up for the flower and cut the pieces out with the punch that goes along with the set.  The stamp set is called "Build a Blossom" and the punch is "Blossom Petals Punch" all in the new Occasions Mini.  I used the sentiment from the "Easter Blossoms" Stamp Set also in the same catalog.  I used the scalloped oval and the oval punch for the sentiment. The back of the card is embossed with the embossing folder "Framed Tulips" also in the new mini catalog.  The white piece was embossed with the dots embossing folder from  Cuttlebug.  The color ink and paper is Rich Razzleberry also from Stampin UP.  We touched it up with some Stampin Up pearls.

This is the inside of the card.  I used the topnote from Stampin Up along with pearls.   I didn't add a sentiment for this card, I thought it would be nice to add a personel greeting when this is sent.

Thinking of You

I wanted to try this new flower die, I believe it is in the new Occasions Mini Catalog.  I just love it..it is a really nice flower for a card.  I used the butterfly punch from Martha Stewart along with the pearls I love, added ribbon and Nestabilities label 2 for the inside greeting...all the sentiments are from Stampin Up.

Birthday Envelope Card

Good Afternoon all or whoever sees this :)  I seem to have so much to do and nothing to do all the time, but can't seem to find my way to the craft room to make cards.  But I  made it here today,  I thought I would make an envelope card, or that is what I will call it. 
I just love K & Company paper, it is always so nice and matches most paper.  If you haven't noticed I really like making the scalloped circle flowers, so easy and the make such a great embellishment for a card.  I still love adding pearls and notice there is no ribbon on this card, another one of my favorites on a card.....The Greetings is from Stampin Up.  I used Stampin Up punches to add the greetings too, and the inside I used Nestibilities dies I think it is Labels 6.  The button in the large flower is in the new Mini Occasions Catalog.

Happy Birthday

I got up this morning and had a few ideas running around in my head, why on the days that I don't plan to be in the craft room I get the ideas, and the days I plan to be here all day, I have nothing to work with.  OK, well yesterday I made my mother-in-law a Birthday Card which she will be getting this evening.  While I was making this card a had a few ideas and decided I would put them to the paper in the morning.....well...I have lost those and now working from the nights sleep I lost thinking........about this card.

I guess my ideas come from the paper I see.  I see paper and then realize what it would look like on a card. This paper I used on this card today is from a little pad of paper I bought, I believe it is like a small 4 1/2x6 1/2 inch paper from DCWV, I believe I purchased it at Hobby Lobby.  I have enjoyed making the flowers for the last two cards from the Stampin Up scalloped punches.  The stamped greetings are Stampin Up and I just love them for a birthday card.  I have really been using the Spellbinders dies and I enjoy how much a card becomes alive with them.  I have ordered some more dies and I hope I can find things to use them for.

Happy Birthday Mother-in-law

My mother-in-law will be celebrating her birthday on Thursday so I thought I would make her a card. I finally after several hours   found the motivation to come up with something I think is presentable.
Pam (my cousin) and I always make cards on Wednesday, so today we made cards but we found we both were lacking in the creative juice it takes to make something we think we want to keep.  I had several from time to time that hits the trash can and then I start over.....today was one of those days.

I hope my mother-in-law likes this card, if she only knew how hard it was to come up with.....

I used spellbinders dies for the pretty scalloped oval on the front and I used Marvy punch ovals for the other two that were layered.  I used both scalloped punches from Stampin Up for the large flower in the front and the brad is the antique brads from Stampin Up.  The paper is K & Co. and I used Martha Stewart punches for the cut out borders on the bottom.  The inside scallop was also spellbinders and marvy punches just like the front, the small flower is cut from the spellbinders circle scalloped dies...small one...I always pierced around the scallopes on the ovals and circles to add some decoration.  The sentiments on the front and inside are both from Stampin Up.

All Occasion

I wanted to share with you a card I actually started on yesterday and finished up this afternoon.  I had a  hard time getting myself to move today, so I finally found some energy and now it is evening, and time to do other things.
I have had this idea for a long time to just make cards that could be for any occasion.  I would make the cards and then make different sentiments that could be put on the card with a simple oval punch cutout or any shape for that matter.  This one I feel would work nicely for a wedding card, Thank You Card,  Birthday or any occasion you might want to use it for.  I am going to make kits and then make the tags for them for those who buy them to put on any card they would like.  My friend Pam, and I are making a lot of cards for a festival that we have in our area.    We are going to make a few other paper crafts like baskets, boxes and bookmarks all that kind of stuff.  If anyone has ideas on other easy projects please let us know. 
I used spellbinders dies for the front and inside.  I used Pearls and ribbons.  The Rose Ribbons are in the New Occasions Mini book from Stampin UP.  I just love them.  I also used the ticket punch from Stampin Up for the corners on the front.

Thank You Flower

Today is beginning to be a good day.  I have been getting a few cards done.  Most cardmakers realize that making a card takes time unless you have an idea in your head and it is all put together there, but I put things together as I go, sometimes glueing something down and then taking it up and doing something different, or turning over a piece of cardstock you already stamped on, and stamp something else.  So cardmaking is a lot of trial and error......for me mostly errors being fixed.
The flower on this card was cut out with the new punch from Stampin Up that is in the new Occasions Mini catalog.  I used some spellbinders dies and Martha Stewart punches.

Stampin Up stamps, cardstock and punches seems to pull this card together.  The inside was a label die from Spellbinders. Add a little ribbon and you have a "Happy Birthday" card.

Moving on from Christmas to all occasions is something I think I will enjoy.  I love Christmas but I am ready to move on. 
Here I have made a Birthday Card.  I received some new punches for Christmas and really wanted to try them out.  This card is something that just came to me as I was putting it together.

Happy Valentine's Day w/ charm

Isn't it amazing how a computer has taken over our lives.  I find that I can make plans on what I might be doing for the day, and then realize that I should have checked with the computer to see if my plans were going to be good for it.  As you might be guessing by my writing here, I have been having computer issues lately.  It isn't like we don't have another computer to work with, but when you have the majority of your "plans" in the one computer you are sorta stuck.  I have this desktop computer which for most is not even an option when buying a computer, but for me it is almost a necessity.  I do a lot of photos and use photoshop most of the time, and having a screen (monitor) for viewing photos is a must, and most of those monitors are with desktops. But oh well, I will be replacing this one soon.
Now on to why I am here.
I made this card yesterday.  It isn't anything wonderful but I wanted to come up with a nice card that would be good for some of my  friends to make when I have my next card party, which is coming up very soon.  This card was very simple and I think it would be easy for my friends to make.  On the outside of the card I used card stock that is like a linen texture, it is very pretty.  I believe the paper is by GCD Studios, I purchased it at Hobby Lobby, the name of the paper was Ella Blue.  It has some really pretty vintage like paper.
I used Martha Stewart punches for borders around the ribbon.  The pearls, the ribbon roses, and leaves were all from Stampin Up, The ribbon roses are available today in the new Occasions Mini that comes out today, along with the punch to the leaves I cut here. 
The heart charm on the outside and inside is from Cousin Corp, I purchased these from Michaels.
My brown ribbon is from Walmart.  I have noticed lately that our local Walmarts..(.we have several in a small radius around us), are not longer selling scrapbooking items, and the fabric depts are no longer there either.  We have one of the 3 that still sells these items.  I am hoping they continue to do so....I love buying ribbon there.
The large hearts are a punch from Marvy. 
I am spending the day in the "Therapy Room" today so I will (I hope) have more cards to share with you today, so stop back later.

Layered Valentine

Not my favorite creation but anyway.  I used Stampin Up Valentine stamps and I think the paper is Stampin Up.  The oval was spellbinders, the ovals layering were punches.  All were layered on the topnote. Added pearls and a ribbon on a border cut with Martha Stewart punches.
